A Blackburn Mistake With Hanley

It was decided by Blackburn Rovers that Raheem Hanley wasn’t good enough to play for this Football Club, however this hasn’t stopped a Premier League club from snapping him up!!

The former England Youth International had been named among the substitutes for Blackburn during his time with the club but the left-back who can also play in midfield wasn’t ever able to force himself into the starting XI at any time, so has left Ewood Park having failed to make a first team appearance.

Instead of slipping through the Leagues like many can when they leave a Football Club Hanley has done quite the opposite as he’s actually made a move up into the Premier League with Swansea City deciding to hand the 19-year-old a contract with them for the next 18-months.

History is littered with mistakes made by Football Clubs, even the very best and most respected of people can make errors of judgement (remember Zinedine Zidane and his non transfer to Ewood when this could’ve happened) but that’s just the way it goes. Things weren’t meant to be for Hanley with Rovers and I wish him well with Swansea, however not too well as that will mean we made a mistake in letting him go!!
