Blackburn secured a first win in three when beating Rotherham at Ewood Park on Tuesday.

Marcus Antonsson, who was among the goalscorers in Rovers’ 2-0 win, was left in little doubt this was a win we ‘really deserved’ following one of the best performances of the season.

Antonsson, which came after Dominic Samuel had twice his the woodwork in the first half, headed in the opener ahead of the half hour mark.

Blackburn couldn’t add a second until Harry Chapman scored at the second attempt late on to confirm a Rovers return to winning ways to move us to the cusp of a play off place.

Having scored his first goal at Ewood, Antonsson told the Official Website it was a win Blackburn deserved, even if the winning margin should have been greater.

‘I think we really deserved it. I think it was – especially in the first half – one of our best performances so far and we really deserved the win. I think I should have had three goals to be fair, but I’ll save them for the other games. We won, that is the most important thing.’

On his goal he added: ‘I saw there was a massive space there and I know it isn’t easy to put the perfect corner in, and if you get it a little bit low then it is a good space to be in. I found it and it was 1-0.’
