The views of Blackburn boss Paul Lambert ahead of the meeting with Cardiff today as Rovers look to kick-off 2016 with a positive result and put the run of defeats behind them.

Having been unbeaten with Christmas approaching Blackburn then suffered back-to-back defeat against Reading and Bolton, with Middlesbrough postponed between these two-matches.

Lambert’s well aware that Cardiff will pose a challenge with Blackburn going into this one at the Cardiff City Stadium six-points adrift of the Welsh side, telling

‘I think they are a good side, a strong team with a strong squad. You look at their team, they’ve gone back to what they were a few years ago and they are a good side.’

Cardiff haven’t enjoyed the best of form recently or, all in all, the best of seasons with expectations higher than currently being achieved. Then again you could say the same of Blackburn really!

The Blackburn boss added he was confident enough of getting a result if Rovers are at there best with him looking for the added pressure the Bluebirds will be under as the home side to be capitalised on.

‘It will be a tough game, but there’ll be a bit of pressure on them with them being at home. But if we go down there and do what I’ve always said, to go out and win, to go on the front good which we’ll try and do. That is important, on the front foot is the only way we can play, and if we do that then we’ll have a good chance but it is a tough game.’
