Benni McCarthy’s agent is claiming that West Ham and Blackburn have arranged a fee for the South African hitman to move to Upton Park.

Benni is desperate to get away and his agent says that whilst the fee is undisclosed (how annoying!) it has been agreed.

All he needs now is to agree personal terms and a work permit and he is gone… Sasman and LH Rover will be pleased!

This also indicates that we have found our replacement for Benni…

  • I hope for 3 million at least! dissapointed to see him go. to me hes is our best player, he makes things happen on the pitch and will score goals, west ham have got a real signing. any ideas who his replacement is?

  • I dont think he is our best player – I think Dunn is our best player personally. Then maybe Benni alongside Emerton and Samba but if he wants out then he should go. He will be no good for us.

  • For the best. I agree Mikey and at least David Dunn wants to play for Rovers – the sort of Commitment that Samba and Emmerton show! Enough said.

  • Maybe it will be a quick thing? We dont really sell anyone without a replacement lined up… I thing the board knows who they will be getting.

  • The more i think about it, the more it annoys me, Pushed out initially then decided after so much messing about to actaully run out, £2.25 mill, for one of our most consistant scorers in recent years.
Now here’s the challenge, who are we supposed to by with the penny’s we have recieved??
Cos not one player on here mentioned so far is a sgood as Benni, or even close.
Sam’s very nxt signing will determine if he has a job come the summer, it will also determine which division we are in.
I just can’t see where our goals are gonna come from, Lets not forget although benni has not scored as many as usual, he is prob one of the top assist players we have this season, and without seing the stats id say he prob is number 1 assist player for us this season, Not bad for someone who has hardly played

  • flippin eck u glen n sas are in love here!!! We were never so strong about the likes of Bellamy, RSC or even Shearer for that matter!!!! ha ha Look to your right guys…we’re 12th in a league of teams with much more money than us…in fact every team from 9th to 15th has out spent us!!!…..We’ve had and lost better than Benni and BRFC will survive without him….plus have i been watching the same team because it looks like Kalinic is as likely as anyone to score the neccessay goals for us!!

  • Benni has hardly been consistent this season – 1 league goal. The fact that he missed training is a disciplinary issue which has forced his transfer – this tells you everything – he doesn’t want to play for us. He never wanted to play for us, he only saw us as a platform to get to a better club (eg Chelsea after his first season). Bellamy was better, Roque was better, hell even Bentley and Warnock I would have preferred to keep – and all these guys wanted to leave too. It’s not down to Sam it’s the fact that we aren’t the attractive club that we once were and we have to live with that. Thanks for the goals Benni!

  • …the only thing I hope the board have got the sense for – is delaying the move until Saturday afternoon so that he can’t play against us!

  • Best of luck Benni, you contributed well when you could be arsed but if you do end up playin against us on sat any chance you can eat a few more pies prior to kick off? Thanks

  • lol hes gone sas and glen need to stop supportin benni and start supporting rovers again.Yes was a great palyer and if he didnt skip those last 2 trainin sessions i would have still wanted him.We need to face the future

  • Yes he has gone and everyone keeps saying 1 goal in 10, but how many assist? You are also saying you want beattie as his replacement?
2 goals in 20 appearances this season and out of the picture at stoke cos of (a spat with the manager due to fitness) Does this ring any bells???
