Rovers midfielder Vince Grella has become the subject of some worry from Rovers manager Sam Allardyce who has today expressed his concern over the long term fitness of the Aussie midfielder.

Vince has spent more time in a medical facility than an NHS worker in the last two years and has often been mocked by fans for his non-appearance, even starting off a feature in Rovers fanzine 4000 holes called ‘Where’s Vince?’.

But the man who calls the shots has spoken publicly about Grella and his worry that Vince may never string a run of games together for Blackburn Rovers.

Allardyce spoke to Sky Sports and said – ‘He can’t seem to get a run of games to maintain the level of fitness we call match-fitness.

‘Vince has been unable to do that in his entire time here and has always broken down in some way.

‘The concerning thing is it is not a particular area that continues to break down, it is always somewhere different.

‘He is experienced, we know how good a passer he is. He has had an impact on the team when he has been available but unfortunately we haven’t been able to keep him on the pitch long enough.’

It is obvious that Grella is a bit of a Sam favourite as any time he gets near a pitch he is starting and is the type of character that Allardyce likes.

But how long can he put up with his constant injuries?
