Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce discusses his thoughts on our 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday with Sky Sports.

When Didier Drogba gave Chelsea an early lead most would’ve expected a heavy defeat, however, we dug in and Allardyce was happy to see us get it right in the second half as El-Hadji Diouf secured us a point with twenty minutes to play.

Allardyce told Sky Sports: “It was really disappointing to go behind after a promising start.

“But then we held out well without really creating much quality in the final third.

We put that right in the second half with the goal.

Big Sam (who was jeered when Jason Roberts came on for Nikola Kalinic, however, he was proven right in the end) made a few tactical moves for the second half, which made a difference in the end:

He added: “I told our wide men to push further on to their full-backs, because we were sitting too deep and could not get support to our frontman.

“We moved the ball better on what was a difficult surface.

“I was really pleased with the second-half performance and deserved the draw in the end.

This was a superb point and a hard earned one, however, as Big Sam himself said this was for us and not for anyone else with the person doing the interview saying that Sir Alex Ferguson would be happy that his friend has helped do Manchester United a favour. This was our point and a well earned (and deserved) one!!
