Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce was disappointed that Rovers allowed too much fear into our game when we were beaten 4-0 by Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool were always likely to be up for the match (due to it being the twentieth Anniversary of Hillsborough weekend of course not to mention the fact they are still looking to win the Title) and so the scoreline proved. However, Allardyce felt that we allowed too much fear into our game as to who we were playing and that played into Liverpool’s hands. Big Sam was also disappointed that Christopher Samba (who he started in a lone strikers role) wasn’t supported enough by others.

Allardyce told Sky Sports: “I had watched how Didier Drogba had caused them so much trouble in midweek and decided to use Christopher Samba in that role.

“Obviously he is not that quality of player, but it was the same idea. The problem was that we did not support him at all and allowed Liverpool to pick up possession.

“We did not compete enough and they were deserved winners. Samba did OK but he had no help.

“Maybe a bit of fear crept into our lads. It is hard to come to Anfield with several top players out and get anything.

Big Sam believes that Liverpool remain serious contenders to win the Premier League, unfortunately though Sam we don’t want to be hearing about them and their Title chances, we want to be hearing about us and our chances of remaining in the Premier League ourselves!!!
