Sam Allardyce taught his underachieving Rovers players a lesson as he ordered his Blackburn players into monday morning training at 7AM!
After a poor display at Goodison Park at the weekend Sam wanted to remind the players that that level of performance will not be tolerated ever again and took drastic action – dragging every single Rovers first team player into the crack of dawn training.
Big Sam, speaking to Sky Sports said – ‘It’s something I did once before at Bolton. Hopefully, it has had the desired effect.
‘Were they happy? I don’t think so. But everybody was on time and we sorted a few things out.’
Sam wanted to put things right and I believe that this kick up the backside should work a treat. The Rovers players get paid plenty of money and to expect them to suffer for their terrible showing is more than fair.
In a side note the morning training session also allowed Allardyce to attend the great, late Sir Bobby Robsons’ memorial service.

its good to see that Sam has not taken this lying down and has punished the players for their performance. They do however have a great chance to get back on track tonight.
Let’s see if it works… tonight shouldn’t give us too much trouble (I repeated shouldn’t), the real test will be at Villa Park!
I feel sorry for Paul Robinson – he was our best player!
We are home to Villa TD5 mate! tonight we need to play to the full potential we have – if we do we will win. If we dont, we are there for the taking at the moment!
Punishing the players by making them start at 7am? The horror, the horror!
I do that 3 days a week but for them in their pampered life styles I imagien it was a kick up the backside!
ive done it for my soccer team, sure, they dont get paid the thousands a week that our rovers do, and they probably werent happy also! but, it works, shakes them up, snaps em out of their routine!
What time does training usually start??
