A large portion of Blackburn Rovers players are keen to see new gaffer Sam Allardyce get shot of Paul Ince’s backroom team.

Archie Knox, Ray Mathias and Karl Robinson, had little respect among the first team squad as they felt the training methods employed were completely outdated.

Mark Hughes had built a reputation on state of the art training techniques and 100% fitness as he picked up the slack from Graeme Souness’ unfit squad.

One senior player (who is unnamed to protect his identity) told The Sun – “We were never going to win anything with them. If they had been in control for the game against Stoke on Saturday, we would have had no chance.

“They need to go. That was most of the problem under Ince.

“It wasn`t personal with Ince ? a lot of the lads liked him ? but his backroom staff were so outdated and unorganised.”

Several players such as Vicne Grella and Dave Dunn have been injured this season and the squad felt that was as a result of poor warm downs and slack training.

The player added: “They came up with stupid rules such as the no hats or gloves in training.

“Under Hughes we were a really forward-thinking club. It was like going back 20 years under these guys.”

It looks as though now Ince has gone, the real feelings have come out.
