Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce discusses his thoughts on our victory over Wigan Athletic on Wednesday with Sky Sports.

Allardyce was delighted to pick up an important three points following the 2-1 win over Wigan at Ewood Park after Nikola Kalinic’s late winner. The Rovers manager admitted that it was scrappy at times but felt we had more than enough chances to get this very important win that moves us away from the relegation zone.

Allardyce said: “We had numerous chances, scored two goals, and in the end we won the game comfortably.

“At times it was a bit scrappy, but it was a great, battling performance, and another three points.

This win makes it back to back wins in the Premier League for only the second time this season and that makes all the difference and has seen us up to around midtable as a result with Big Sam knowing the importance of this too.

He added: “It’s the second time we’ve managed to get back-to-back wins this season, and what a difference it makes in the Premier League.

“It has shot us up to 11th, and we’ve started 2010 really well, so let’s keep it going, with everybody playing their part.

“It’s looking good for us. If we can go on a little undefeated run now, starting at West Ham, then we’re looking okay.

It’s now so important for us to keep this run going as we could be dragged back into the relegation fight as quickly as we’ve moved away from it though so we can’t afford to sit back and relax.
