Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has clarified that if a takeover does happen, it won’t happen in time for him to be given more money to strengthen in August.

There are several names whizzing around that are linked with taking the reigns of the Rovers but the process often takes time.

So much so that Allardyce believes that if money was to come into the club then he won’t see any of it till January.

‘The new investment is not going to arrive before the transfer window is shut, that is probably certain now.’ Allardyce said, speaking to Sky Sports

‘Anybody who’s going to be interested, and if it is going to happen, it is not going to be between now and August 31.

‘That being the situation, we are getting on with the business we have got in hand and working to the budgets we have already got in place. (Chairman) John Williams keeps me informed on the basis that if there is something to know, he tells me.

‘There are some interested parties but that is as far as it goes.’
