And so Phase B begins

And there I was thinking that we’d not sign anyone at all this summer!

Having spent weeks watching other clubs get cracking in the transfer market and our own Rovers sat there with a pile of cash burning a hole in our pocket it was surely only a matter of time before we start our own spree.

And judging by the latest word coming out of the club and out of the media that time is due to start any second.

For it seems that Steve Kean and his trusty henchman (which no doubt includes Kentaro) have been hard at work these last few weeks drawing up a huge list of targets.

Some ambitious players, some extra players and some back ups in case the first choices don’t come off.

Word on the ‘street’ is that a main striker is where the bulk of the cash will be headed – Mirko Vucinic (not likely), Oscar Cardozo (little bit more on the money) and Pappa Demba Cisse (most likely of the three) are the three in question for that role and a big bid is expected to land on a desk somewhere in Europe any time now.

Another striker has also been a main talking point and there are a hoard of names being discussed but the most public of these is Spurs striker Robbie Keane. He’s not wanted by Spurs, he’ll be released for nothing and if Rovers agree wages with the player then they can have him. Simples.

Over on the left wing, a bit of competition for Martin Olsson is a foot. Pablo Piatti is the first choice option and his current club Almeria will apparently not be too greedy when it comes to a fee.

Then of course there is defence. No concrete names have surfaced as of yet but plenty of rumour has… We’re after a right back, we’re after a centre back or two. Nothing is settled but expect the Rovers team to have something lined up.

The summer has been pretty boring up until now, but is just about threatening to turn into a mad house.

Are you ready? Because I sure as heck am.
