Blackburn Rovers have finally completed the signing of Keith Andrews from Milton Keynes Dons after tracking him all summer long.

The 27-year-old midfielder has been one of manager Paul Ince’s targets since he left MK Dons to come to Ewood Park and he has finally completed a deal for an undisclosed amount to bring his former Dons skipper to Rovers on a three-year contract. Andrews is expected to be in our squad for the Premier League match with West Ham United on Saturday and is very pleased to finally get his move.

Andrews told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website. “I’m absolutely delighted to be here, as everyone knows it has been drawn out for a few weeks between the clubs agreeing the fee and what have you, but obviously I’m delighted to be here and to finally get it sorted, I can’t wait to crack on now.

“Blackburn being a massive club and a Premier League club was a chance that I couldn’t really let go. I did everything in my power to get here, I was pleading with the chairman at MK Dons to get the deal done, and the chance to work with the gaffer once again was obviously a key factor.

“Coming here is a fantastic opportunity for me and it is one that I am really relishing and I hope to take with both hands.

Andrews might not be the signing that most people wanted, and most people will question Ince’s judgement here as League One (League Two just last season!) to the Premier League is a BIG jump, particularly for a player in his mid to late twenties with no real previous experience at this level, however, lets just back Incey’s judgement here and give the Irishman a chance before he is completely written off!
