Stdve Kean has given Rovers boo boy Keith Andrews a bit of support by backing him to bounce back from his crucial mistake on Saturday.

Keith got the ball rolling for Villa on Saturday with a clumsy mistake to gift Villa a penalty at the start of the second period which capped off a poor outing for the Trappatoni favourite.

But Steve has backed Keith to come good and for Rovers to show the fans an improved performance next time out at Fulham.

Kean spoke to the Lancashire Telegraph and said – ‘Keith is gutted about the penalty but he`s the type of player who holds his hands up’

‘He made a mistake but everyone makes mistakes on the pitch.

‘Of course we will support him. Keith’s a great lad, he’s a good player, he’s an international player.

‘It’s just one of those things. Everyone makes mistakes, unfortunately for him in this instance it led to a penalty.

‘But he’s big enough, old enough and experienced enough to not let that affect him.

‘I think any fan is allowed their opinion on players, you’ve got your favourite players and you’ve got players you don’t like as much as the others.

‘That’s just football.

‘Hopefully they will all help him. Our fans are fantastic, they get behind the team.

‘I know we didn’t give them a lot to shout about on Saturday but hopefully the travelling fans at Fulham will see a better result and then we’ll look forward to the Blackpool game – they’ve been fantastic at home in every single game this year.

‘The penalty that came on Saturday, it was unfortunate that Keith made a mistake, but he will bounce back from that.

‘He won`t have a problem.’

A lot of words there Steve, let’s see actions to match them.
