Republic of Ireland and Blackburn midfielder Keith Andrews, who has been suffering heckling and boos from fans all season, seems to have finally snapped after an incident with a fan after being subbed on Saturday in the game with Everton.

It started off as a rumour but the papers have now picked up on it.

During the game the follwoing took place (all according to the Daily Mirror) –

‘Andrews was walking up to his seat in the elevated dug-out when he turned on the fan and squirted them with his bottle of drink, showering the shocked fan.

Other subs and members of Sam Allardyce’s backroom staff stepped in to stop further trouble between Andrews and the stunned spectator.’

Now whilst I do not condone the constant heckling and vile directed at Keith, to react like this will only get Andrews into trouble.

Yes Keith isn’t particularly a good player but I must say that the fans have probably built up frustration in Andrews and this incident might have been the culmination of a long series of ‘Andrews Abuse’.

But the club will likely make Andrews pay for this…

  • If we need a bit of extra funding – he would be one of the ones to go. Also a rumour Wellington Phoenix want Nelly? I could see this happening even if it is after next season, rather than this one.

  • Tut tut tut, I was there and didn’t see any of this!!! Gutted!!

It was only a matter of time till something happened, but thought he would say something rather than do something like this!!!

  • Bennipoo- what the heck is going on?! Were you too busy perving at Dunn!? I saw that Fran, I cant see him leaving until he is told to go, he loves it here does the Nelly!!!

  • Well done Kieth, what would you do if someone keeped giving you ****?
As stated Sam picks the team & we have plenty who can play the same position as Andrews.
Andrews is not by far the best player to have graced the turf at Ewood however he is one of the most committed, not on a kings ransom like spit, not laid up on the physio table like half if colleges

  • i’d rather he was on the physio table roversok.. hes the worst player ive seen in a rovers shirt… id rather have the axe back..

  • i commend him, hes never injured and is willing to put a shift in. But hes fairly awful, in my eyes hes alright as a backup but he shouldnt be first team if others are not injured.

  • Woah woah woah, how very dare you Mr Delap….well yes i probably was!! hahahaha!! No i was watching what was going on on the pitch. I do feel for Keith, he’s had some right stick, and he always puts in a fair shift, plus EHD has done far worse in his time and Sam has always stuck by him. Did anyone on here see it? Why have we not heard more about it??!!
