Republic of Ireland and Blackburn midfielder Keith Andrews, who has been suffering heckling and boos from fans all season, seems to have finally snapped after an incident with a fan after being subbed on Saturday in the game with Everton.

It started off as a rumour but the papers have now picked up on it.

During the game the follwoing took place (all according to the Daily Mirror) –

‘Andrews was walking up to his seat in the elevated dug-out when he turned on the fan and squirted them with his bottle of drink, showering the shocked fan.

Other subs and members of Sam Allardyce’s backroom staff stepped in to stop further trouble between Andrews and the stunned spectator.’

Now whilst I do not condone the constant heckling and vile directed at Keith, to react like this will only get Andrews into trouble.

Yes Keith isn’t particularly a good player but I must say that the fans have probably built up frustration in Andrews and this incident might have been the culmination of a long series of ‘Andrews Abuse’.

But the club will likely make Andrews pay for this…
