Are the press really that bored?

Nothing quite like a nice, juicy bit of gossip to read on the way to work in the morning is there?

Well you would have been screwed today as the only ‘interesting’ thing news wise about Rovers today is that the papers think that Sam Allardyce is set to swoop for former Bolton player Tal Ben Haim, currently at Pompey.

The press have gone with this story due to the link between the two as Allardyce first bought Ben Haim to England years back when he was boss of the Trotters.

Throw into the mix that the Israeli has been out of the Pompey side and can leave for next to nothing as Portsmouth’s hands are tied as they are in administration and have to sell.

Blackburn also regularly shop for bargains as well. They shop at the Primark end of the transfer market.

Perfect story to run in the red tops hey?

Well, no actually.

Tal Ben Haim is well past it and is currently on about £40,000 a week, so is above to Rovers wage bracket anyway.

Also the media seem to ignore that Rovers have four established centre backs who for my money are all better than Ben Haim and earn less than he does.

Rovers will look to sign on the cheap once again but the more pressing matter is further up the field.

But why bother to be accurate when you can re-hash the same story ever 6 weeks?

Brilliant work all around then, pat yourselves on the backs The Sun, The Mirror and The Star.
