At least Salgado has some common sense

Michel Salgado has had his say on the transfer window and what would be best to move our club forward.

Salgado believes that the smartest way to move the club forward is to aim for players that will stay for three years and commit to longer term deals rather than just signing big money men on short term deals.

Salgado told Sky Sports – ‘I don’t think someone like Beckham coming here for three months is the best thing for him or Blackburn.

‘He’s my friend and if he came here it would be great for us.

‘But to be honest, for the future of Blackburn it’s better to sign a player for three years. It’s the same with Ronaldinho.

‘We’d prefer three or four club players with good experience, maybe not top class but ones who would be really good for this club in the future.

‘We need three or four players with experience and quality rather than Beckham or Ronaldinho.

‘Maybe he wouldn’t be in the mood to play here in England with the weather and those things. You have to be honest.

‘He would be a big name for us, maybe around the world they will talk about us a bit more now.

‘But on the pitch I would prefer a good team, playing well and getting results.’

A simply perfect statement from a very intelligent superstar.
