Rovers, fresh off a desperately unlucky trip just down the road from West Brom at Aston Villa, face a Baggies side on Saturday afternoon as they try to stop a mini slump.

Injuries have not helped at all but Rovers need to turn the great football they play into points otherwise the will keep the slide down the table going.

Vital Quotes:

Paul Ince, speaking to Sky Sports –‘The pass and move football that we are trying to do is starting to come together, we did it against Middlesbrough and we dictated the game against a very good Villa side. ‘But we have to be more clinical, the performances are good, but the game isn’t just about being offensive. ‘We have to do the dirty side of the game, getting tighter to stop balls in the box, having that desire to make sure you win the ball.’

Tony Mowbray, speaking to the BBC –‘One or two of the back four almost took it upon themselves to think they were quite comfortable at this level.

‘What we have found over the last few weeks is that they must play at their maximum every single game.’

West Brom Team News:

South Korea international Kim Do-Heon should be back for West Brom.

Ishmael Miller, hot on the heels of opening his Premiership account, will be hoping to start.

Player to watch: Chris Brunt

As a man that lives in Sheffield I know what this guy can do. He will be quiet for periods of the game but can score some almighty goals.

Will spark into life and is a genuine threat.

Blackburn Rovers Team News:

Blackburn’s Roque Santa Cruz is definitely out due to the injury picked up in the warm up against Villa.

Vince Grella is a doubt but will be tested pre-game, Stephen Warnock is another major doubt. So the midfield is looking bare!

Long term absentee Dave Dunn is out as well.

Player to watch: Brett Emerton

Could start in central midfield if Warnock is out, wherever he plays he is Mr.Consistent and has pace to burn.

Rovers will look to him to create the goals.

Match Facts & Stats

Ref Watch:

Mike Jones (Cheshire).

Match Prediction:

I am backing Rovers to get back on track. We have the game to win, we just need to cut out the stupid errors.

We win as a team we lose as one.

However I am going for a 2-1 win.

Benni McCarthy and Brett Emerton with the goals.

Next Fixtures:

Chelsea at home – that’ll be easy then!
