Benjani Linked With Rovers

Blackburn Rovers are understood to now be focusing attention on Benjani Mwaruwari.

The Manchester City striker is one of a number of players that looks like they are going to be leaving the City of Manchester Stadium and this has seen newspaper reports claiming an interest from Sam Allardyce in the Zimbabwean International. Kenwyne Jones and Darren Bent are other names understood to be interesting Allardyce, however, both appear to be out of Rovers’ budget so Benjani could prove a more realistic (price wise) alternative.

30-year-old Benjani has already said that he’d like to return to his former club Portsmouth so Rovers would have to compete with the South Coast club (if Rovers are even interested??) along with Fulham and Stoke City.
