Speaking in Sunday’s News of the World newspaper Blackburn Rovers striker Benni McCarthy said he will never leave, unless the club wish to cash in on him? which we WON’T!

With the South African in fine form, and not just because of the goals he has scored (which whilst speaking about his goals his fine strike in the FA Cup victory over Everton made it 13 for the season!) has lead to some worrying that perhaps he could go the same way as Craig Bellamy did if his success continues.

But Benni has been quick to quash these concerns by saying he would only look for a challenge elsewhere should the club want to sell him, Benni said:

I don’t know if I have a get-out clause here but if a big club came in and Blackburn wants the money and said yes, I would be interested.

But I want to be loyal to the people who finally gave me a chance. Blackburn showed a lot of determination to get me and I have a lot of respect for that.

So if they want me to stay, I will stay. Blackburn’s wish is my command.

I am no longer 23 or 24, when you still have that ambition and you think you could go to an Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester United.”

Benni seems and looks more than happy, obviously I’ve not seen or heard a lot from him when he played abroad but he is ALWAYS happy and ALWAYS smiling when being interviewed win, lose or draw. Not the look of a man that has any desire to move on and why should he!
