We`ve all seen the January sales start early on the high street this year and it is no different in football as agents scramble around changing their window displays of available clients and trying to sell this season`s must have accessory footballer.

Numerous Rovers players have been linked with moves in the normally tumultuous January transfer window and with the doors about to open reports surfacing suggest two key first teamers will be allowed to leave whereas one has personally ruled himself out of a move.

Benni McCarthy has been supporting Mark Hughes opinions stating that he will not be leaving Blackburn Rovers and wants to play every minute for Blackburn, alongside Roque Santa Cruz. He is quoted in the People on Sunday saying:

I have a contract with Blackburn and nobody at the club has said they don’t want me.

‘If they did not get rid of me in the summer then I don’t believe they will now.

‘I am working hard every day to be in the team as often as possible. I am giving everything on the pitch when I am in the team. I am ready to play 90 minutes every game.

McCarthy went on to say how strong his relationship is with manager Hughes and strike partner Roque Santa Cruz.

Hughes and I have very special characters but we are professionals and we respect each other. I have no problem with the coach. The day there is a problem I will leave.

‘I have no problem playing alongside Santa Cruz as I said from the start.

This will be seen as a welcome boost to Rovers fans because, despite his dip in form, there is no doubting McCarthy`s ability. The fact also that he wants to be playing regularly suggests his hunger and determination to do well. This was evident in his celebrations with Santa Cruz at Eastlands earlier in the week.

Following on from this is the possible departure of two key first team players – Robbie Savage and Jason Roberts. If reports are to be believed on Sunday morning then Hughes will allow the unsettled pair to leave, which could be the excuse to raise additional revenue to bring in new faces.

Skysports news have already suggested that Sunderland will make a £4million bid for the pair. However, both have a number of suitors with Wigan demonstrating an interest in Savage and Derby, Birmingham and Wigan also interested in Roberts.
