Vince Grella’s 4 million pound move 6 months ago was deemed to be a piece of shrewd business from then manager Paul Ince. 4 millions pounds is big money spent, but for a player of Vince’s quality, it was believed to be 4 million pounds well spent. However, injury after injury has prevented Grella from showing what he can do best, shutting down opposing midfielders, and starting the counter attack.

Grella recently came of the bench in the Premier League encounter against Newcastle, and boy did he show what he can do. He shut down the attack, brought some life to the midfield, and his passing game was superb for a defensive minded midfielder. In a recent interview with the LET, Grella explains his feelings and dissapointment to Ewood life.

“I am just happy to be on the pitch. It has been a very awkward start to my career but I think I can turn it around’.

“I have worked probably harder in the last four months than I have in my whole career before. Personal pride has been at stake and I was doing everything I could to get fit again’.

“I have had great support from the club, from the chairman to the medical staff to the coaching staff and it feels great to be back out there again.”

Grella believes he is fit and ready to go, however more match fitness is whats required for him to return back to his best. He hopes to start against Sunderland in the cup on the weekend, and hopefully impress and push on for a starting berth in the derby against Bolton.

GOod to see Grella back in action baby!!!!!!
