Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce has once again admitted that changes will happen at Ewood Park this summer.

Allardyce had already admitted that he was looking to make changes this summer but again reaffirmed this when talking to Sky Sports after our televised defeat against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, admitting that these changes will be due to him wanting change but also because some players will want to leave, however, Big Sam says that those coming in will be better than those that go.

Allardyce told Sky Sports: “We’ll probably make changes with the playing staff – I think that’s inevitable.

“I think the vast majority of the squad are good enough but we obviously have some natural wastage. Those players will leave and the ones we bring in will have to be better than what we’ve got.

“It will be difficult with a limited budget but we’ll scour the world for the best footballers we can find.

Securing our Premier League status was his (and our) priority upon his arrival and with this now achieved looking to the future is what he is doing and he wants to build a side that can move us forward again.

He added: “Securing Premier League status is always our priority but now we must build on that for the fans.

The first player to go was confirmed today when Carlos Villanueva signed a lucrative contract to play in Dubai next season. The departure of the Chilean will disappoint many but in Sam Allardyce we trust, and I don’t doubt his ability to work well in the transfer market this summer to make us a much better team next season.
