Sam Allardyce is confident Blackburn will be one more striker heavy today as Nikola Kalinic`s work permit hearing is today – with Rovers on the cusp of securing a goal scoring striker.

The Croatian ace is expected to sign a four-year deal for Rovers today, pending the permit hearing. Sam is expecting Kalinic to be the focal point of the attack and the main source of goals.

Kalinic has not been able to sign officially as yet but is certainly hoping to do so, then he can work towards the getting in the first X1.

As a player that falls outside of the EU borders, Kalinic does not qualify automatically for a work permit due to having not made enough appearances for his country in the last two years, but his age and also his undoubted potential to be a star should work in his favour. Croatian boss Slaven Bilic has also famously called him the ‘future of Croatian football’.

Allardyce, speaking to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph said – “We will put up a very good case of course. We have a very, very good chance with a very, very talented player.

“He should be allowed to come and express his abilities in this country and show what he can do.

“He has a terrific goal scoring record. He is only 21 and scores one goal every 1.6 games. That is why we have forked out as much money as we have.”
