Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce felt that Rovers deserved more than the point that they got in the 1-1 draw with West Ham United at Ewood Park on Saturday.

Luis Boa Morte controversially put West Ham ahead before half time substitute Keith Andrews made an immediate impact to earn a point, however, we couldn’t find the winner that would have been what Allardyce felt we deserved.

Allardyce told Sky Sports: “We’re all very disappointed that we’ve not clinched the three points.

“I can’t ask any more for the amount of effort, passion and commitment they’ve given today.

Rovers quite rightly had two El Hadji Diouf goals ruled out for offside, but it was the clearly offside Boa Morte who created West Ham’s goal and this frustrated him, but Big Sam was happy with the way we reacted to this instead of feeling sorry for ourselves.

He added: “We had two goals disallowed for offside, but unfortunately the key area lies with the West Ham first goal. Nobody can argue that is not offside. We don’t quite know why the assistant referee hasn’t given it from such a very, very good position.

“So we had a kick in the teeth there having played the first half well. We had some good opportunities and found ourselves a goal down.

“Rather than the players feel sorry for themselves and losing their nerve they come out and put what was a nearly complete performance together for 45 minutes by completely dominating the opposition.

Rovers did dominate most of the match, and after the equalizer was scored there only looked like being one winner (even before this), Allardyce and we know this but you don’t always get what you want or deserve but more pluses should be gained from this result.
