Big Sam fearful over Lewandowski

Big Sam Allardyce fears that Blackburn may be priced out of the market for Polish hotshot Robert Lewandowski and that Rovers may get lost in the shuffle due to the competition they face for his signature.

There was talk of a quick move for the Pole as his club are willing sellers.

But as usual things aren’t quite that simple.

Allardyce told the Lancashire Telegraph: “The money being talked about now for centre forwards doesn`t surprise me. Even though Robert is young and raw, the same as Niko Kalinic, they are at a premium today in the world of football.

“The risk is greater because the country he comes from is not renowned at any great standard with regards league football. His record is very good both at club level and at international level, but the age and the inexperience could mean he is made to wait and to be patient.

“The danger is if we secure Robert, which we have tried to do, we have to be patient as well again. It is getting difficult for us by the looks of it anyway, with other clubs who have shown an interest. We are competing as best as we possibly can but whether we will end up being the one he chooses I am not so sure about that.”
