Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has spoken directly about Jason Roberts and his willingness to sell.

Jason was left out of the games in Scotland this weekend amid speculation he could be moved on and Big Sam has confirmed this is the case.

J-Rob is now in a position to move on as he is one of the ‘expendables’ on Sam’s summer list (please note: there isn’t actually a list just pretend).

With Mame Diouf now on loan Sam wants more of the green stuff to fund further purchases and is prepared to part with J-Rob to get it.

‘I think everyone knows by now we would listen to an offer for Jason,’ Allardyce said to Sky Sports.

‘I felt leaving him behind rather than playing him and risking an injury would be the best bet this weekend.’

  • Let him go, as long as we bring in a replacement. I may be major league wishful thinking here, but I have a feeling Crouch may be our mystery man!

  • If someone can be brought in, I think it’s time for J rob and Rovers to go separate ways, I don’t think he’ll be missed too much would be good to replace him with someone with his physical presence. Has always been good at holding the ball up but not enough goals. Time for a change!

  • why would we sell him for such a small fee? if he does go, it better not be to a PL club, because I have no doubt selling JR will come back to haunt us

  • He probably go to West Brom or another Championship team. A striker not scoring enough goals is always a problem. Never rated him, better to get a fee for him now, before he’s past his expiry date and we get no goals and no fee at all.
