Premier League managers have an increasingly short shelf life nowadays according to Rovers manager Big Sam.

The Blackburn manager expressed his concerns after Luiz Felipe Scolari and Tony Adams lost their jobswithin a number of days of each other.

Allardyce of course, on lasted eight months as manager of Newcastle.

Allardyce, speaking to Sky Sports said – ‘The axe has fallen twice in Premier League this week and that is something which is happening on a regular basis.

‘There is no time anymore. There is only instant success and as managers we have to live with that scenario.

‘We are fast becoming more and more dispensable. The Premier League is the the best league in the world but the most difficult to manage in.’

Allardyce also had a message for Joe Kinnear who sadly has been admitted to hospital last week.

‘I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he is back as soon as possible.’ he said.

‘I had 11 months of looking after myself, rather than years of looking after everyone else. You do put yourself at risk because you are constantly thinking about others than yourself.

‘Every time you go on the touchline you risk your health. You have to take time out to look after yourself.’

Allardyce still has some painful memories of previous FA Cup campaigns with Bolton and wants to rectify previous failings.

Allardyce said, ‘I still have lodged in my mind very vividly losing a penalty shoot out against Aston Villa in the semi-final in 2000.

‘It was a game we should have won but Dean Holdsworth missed an absolute sitter near the end.

‘The excitement and build up to that game at Wembley was massive, so it is important we put aside all our troubles in Premier League and think only of the glory of FA Cup.’

Allardyce expects a rough ride against Chris Coleman’s Coventry tomorrow as Rovers try and get revenge for there 4-1 humiliation last season in the 3rd round.

Sam said – ‘They are in good form and will come with confidence and probably play above themselves.

‘Some of our players will still have it fresh in their mind what happened last year when we got a good thrashing, so we will have to be at our best.’

Big Sam Will also be using the game to use squad players as well.

Allardyce continued, ‘You have to use your squad to the full, it makes perfect sense.’
