Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce was left happy despite Rovers’ 2-0 defeat against Manchester United on Saturday evening.

Allardyce couldn’t argue with the goals from Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney as they were two superb goals. The fact that we kept with Man United until the end was pleasing to him.

Allardyce told Sky Sports: “They have got two goals through good finishes from Berbatov and Rooney. You cannot argue with their quality but we have stayed right to the end and that is pleasing.

However, the thing that Big Sam was unhappy with was a goal from Nikola Kalinic that was disallowed for offside even though it clearly wasn’t.

He added: “We cannot have the opportunity taken away from us after we had worked so hard. It is a disappointing scenario to be left with.

“This is so far onside, it is not a close one. It should have been given. With four minutes to go who knows what might have happened.

The heavy defeat to Chelsea was poor the defeat against Manure was nothing to be ashamed of and now things get easier, at least they are meant to be when Portsmouth come to Ewood Park on Saturday afternoon.
