Blackburn Sam Allardyce has rubbished suggestions that the worlds’ greatest team face a ‘mass exodus of stars`.

A Sunday tabloid (guess who) claimed this weekend that a number of key players could be set to leave Ewood Park over the summer due to interest from elsewhere. But Allardyce insists the only players that will leave will be the ones he wants to let go of.

Stephen Warnock, Benni McCarthy and Chris Samba were all mentioned as possible departures but this has now been disregarded as the utter nonsense it always was.

The boss, talking to the club`s official website, said – “We are looking to build a squad here rather than dismantle one, so no one will be leaving this summer unless I feel it is in the best interests of the club.

“I`ve made no secret of the fact there is some rebuilding work to be done so, to that end, there will be some comings and goings.

“However, the plan is to build a team around some of the key players we already have here.

“The majority of them are on decent-length contracts so I`m quite relaxed about the situation.”

Get ready for a long summer guys. The ‘lets all target the smaller Premier League clubs’ campaign has started earlier. Strap yourself in.
