Blackburn were twice pegged back by Birmingham on Tuesday when we had to be content to share the points with our host in draw, which keeps both sides in midtable. This is something that Birmingham, given the position they were in when Gary Rowett arrived, would have been more than happy with but we wanted something more from this season….

A half time lead was lost in the second half before Blackburn restored this but again Birmingham hit back to see the game end in a two-two draw at St Andrew’s.

Kilgallon (8) got us off to a great start when he came up for a corner, with him heading home Conway’s delivery to put us ahead and that was a lead that we were able to take into the second half without too much threat from the hosts.

Birmingham threatened more in the second half and that pressure eventually told with Eastwood, who again kept his place in the Blackburn goal, beaten by Grounds (64) who headed home just past the hour.

Rhodes (68) wouldn’t have scored too many simpler goals than the one that he was gifted, following a defensive mistake from Birmingham, with him left to finish into an open goal four-minutes later to restore our lead.

Again though Birmingham hit back when the highly rated Gray (78) made it two-two 10-minutes later and this is how it ended.
