Blackburn’s ‘faint’, and they are just that faint, chances of making a late dash into the play-offs were kept alive by a dramatic injury-time winner from ‘Middlesbrough bound’ striker Rhodes to give us a one-nil win over Bolton at Ewood Park.

The win, which sees us up to 10th in the Championship and ‘closes the gap’ on Brentford to 11-points also saw Bowyer again play down the suggestion that the Scottish international could be leaving, saying ‘why would you loan out your top goalscorer’ when asked about the Middlesbrough rumours!

Bolton, winners of six of the past seven-matches between the sides, had chances to take the lead with Steele keeping out a 30-yard Danns effort and then the Blackburn ‘keeper denied Davies, who was through one-on-one with him.

Rhodes had been denied when Man United loanee ‘keeper Amos saved his header but it was Rhodes (90+4) that forced home the winner deep into injury-time from a Henry flick after Cairney’s delivery from a corner.
