Blackburn wanted more than a ‘top 10 finish’ this season but the likelihood of this being consolidated improved on Tuesday with a two-nil win at Ewood Park against relegation threatened Millwall.

Two late goals, from the Blackburn strikeforce that we would hope will lead the line next season – but it would seem ‘unlikely’ that they will with one of both set to move on, earned us three-points to open up a gap between ourselves and 10th placed Charlton, and also give us a four point cushion on Forest.

It would, not that it’s really our concern, that this win will almost certainly confine Millwall to relegation into League 1 at the end of the season as they’re four-points from safety with only two-matches to play….

Millwall can’t say that they didn’t have chances though as Woolford had a couple of half decent chances, although he was also denied by a goal line clearance from Spurr too, while Blackburn saw Brown denied when his header hit the crossbar.

Having seen Cowan-Hall fail when through on goal Blackburn punished them with Gestede (78) grabbed his 20th goal of the season as he volley home to give us the lead with the final 10-minutes approaching.

As Millwall pushed, as they had to, for an equaliser they left themselves exposed at the back and this allowed a counter-attack with Rhodes (90+3) to run through and beat Forde deep in injury-time to wrap up the points.
