Blackburn came from behind on Saturday to end the Championship season with a win at Ewood Park against Ipswich to see us finish the season in 9th but we still finished this campaign some 12-points adrift of the top six….

Nevertheless a three-two win against Ipswich, who still made the play-offs on goal-difference, will see us go into the summer with something to cheer although it’ll be a summer that we might fear too! As you suspect that both Rhodes and Gestede enjoyed their final Blackburn performances with goals before leaving over the summer?

This win also brought the curtain down on Dunn’s Blackburn career, he celebrated his 387th, and of course his final, appearance for us with a win.

Murphy (2) got Ipswich, who knew a draw would secure a play-off spot beyond doubt, off to a great start as he volleyed home after just a couple of minutes. Sears went close to adding a second as he clipped the bar.

Williamson threatened to get us back into the game before Rhodes (36) haunted his former side as he headed home a Conway freekick the equalise 10-minutes before the break with us going into this two-one up when Conway (42) fired home.

Ipswich could have levelled through Hunt but he couldn’t take the chance that Sears created for him whereas Ipswich had ‘keeper Bialkowski to thank for keeping out Rhodes but Gestede (58) did make the most of confusion at the back for Ipswich to make it three-one ahead of the hour, again from a Conway cross.

Only the bar denied us a fourth, and prevented King from potentially marking his final appearance for us with a goal, before Spurr brought down Bishop to give Ipswich a penalty, which Murphy (82) successfully converted to give Ipswich hope but we saw out the three-two win.
