Quite clearly Ben Marshall was going to leave Blackburn. If that didn’t happen in January with a fee involved it would be in the summer as a free agent.

This didn’t happen until late in the day but ahead of the transfer deadline on Tuesday Marshall’s transfer to Wolves was officially confirmed.

An undisclosed fee took him to Molineux where he links up with former Blackburn boss Paul Lambert on a three and a half year contract. The way football is these days there’s every chance Marshall will outstay the Scot at Wolves!

Marshall scored 15 goals in his 140 appearances for Blackburn – but wasn’t involved of late with Owen Coyle taking the decision to leave him out of recent games due to his future uncertainty – following his arrival at Ewood Park in 2013 from Leicester.
