Blackburn Crisis, What Crisis?

Boddingtonblue looks at the potential dogfight Blackburn Rovers could be embroiled in if things don’t change. Further more are we up to the battle if we face it?

When Sparky came we were in big trouble heading out the premiership. He adopted the dogs of war approach; successful at Everton in previous seasons. There was no doubt we fought for our lives, not pretty but very effective.

He then sought to move us forward, the signings of Craig Bellamy and David Bentley being pivotal moments. We moved away from the fight for every ball ethic and we started to play football, at times really good football.

Bellamy left, Benni McCarthy and Shabani Nonda came, injuries were sustained and now we find ourselves in Dickies Meadow. The question then is when do we move back to the dogs of war and are we capable of doing it? No more Paul Dickov, who would fight, no more David Thompson, the same. McCarthy, Nonda and Morten Gamst Pedersen all better when it’s going well; invisible at times of crisis.

You may say crisis what crisis, with the people we have we may not be able to fight our way out of the proverbial paper bag!

Decision time is fast approaching, the cavalry may be on there way in the shape of Reidy and the Admiral but it may be a survival mission as opposed to an assault on a UEFA cup place.

We shall see?
