Blackburn Rovers’ official Twitter feed re-ran a short highlights video from back in 2015 under the auspices of ‘on this day’ type of content that keeps social media ticking over when Russia and Cambridge Analytica have better things to do.
It’s a lovely little reminder of days gone by and features Rudy Gestede’s hat-trick of headers back in the game against Nottingham Forest.
Take a look…

The second header may be the better of the three, but the backflip after his third may swing some people.
Despite Blackburn enjoying a fine League 1 season (albeit with wobbles and some automatic promotion concerns of late), Blackburn continue to sit in second place in the table with a five-point gap on Shrewsbury in third place.
But that shouldn’t stop fans from hankering back to previously good days.
Two things came from the video and it’s no surprise to see that a number of comments expressed a wish to see Gestede return to Ewood Park for next season given his relative lack of success at Aston Villa and Middlesbrough since first leaving us.
The second was a little more obscure – see if you can spot it.
