The rumour mill is in full swing again (another reason we know its Summertime!) and the latest player to be linked with Blackburn Rovers is Trabzonspor’s Turkish international midfielder Gokdeniz Karadeniz.

It seems that Rovers are apparently in the frame for his signature along with Newcastle and Middlesbrough.

His agent Serdar Fafal has confirmed:
He wants to go, every player from Turkey wants to test himself and there is no bigger stage than the Premier League.”

Bey Fafal went on to say:

There is interest from Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Blackburn, there are many teams looking at him but he has a contract with Trabzon, so at the moment we will have to see what talks happen.”

Karadeniz is an experienced international midfielder with over 30 caps and 5 goals to his name.

His main position is attacking midfielder but has, in the past for Trabzon, played as a striker and played in defence but is primarily an attack minded midfielder with an eye for goal and a good range of passes (Does this sound like any other Turks we know??)

Gokdeniz is widely regarded in Turkey as one of the best talents to come out of Trabzon’s famed youth academy.

Personally, I am not sure whether we need this type of player, especially as he is approaching 28 but for the right price, he may be a good replacement for the Maestro, as he is not going to go on forever. The price may, ultimately be the deciding factor for Mark Hughes and Blackburn.

I guess only time will tell whether Rovers make a move but with Newcastle having Emre in their ranks and Middlesbrough managing to sign Sanli Tuncay on a free, it should be interesting to see, if indeed he does come over to the Premier League, who Karadeniz lands with.
