I’m not sure how many (maybe outside of our support, even some of that doubt it??) think Blackburn Rovers can make it into the Championship Play Offs?? If we’re going to we need to win at Middlesbrough today I think.

Blackburn are going for the double this afternoon against Middlesbrough after we won 1-0 at Ewood Park in November and we’ve got a good record at the Riverside Stadium as we’ve only been beaten once by them away in the last six meetings stretching back to 2005, however, that defeat came last season.

It’s going to be an interesting match as Middlesbrough are on a good run of form as they look to mount a possible late charge for the Championship Play Offs themselves but even though we’re only something like two points ahead of them we’re the more likely side that could manage to fight into the Play Offs, however, a win today is a must as we’re already five points behind Reading (effectively six points due to their goal difference) who hold the final spot at the moment with them a further three points behind Nottingham Forest.

Rovers have only tasted defeat away from Ewood once in the last five Championship away matches since the start of December 2013 when we lost at Nottingham Forest 4-1 on January the 18th.

I’m not expecting the Play Offs really but it’s something that stays in the background of my mind all the while it’s a realistic possibility and quietly creeping up the table is something we’ve been doing recently.
