Blackburn Rovers player names – A Complete Guide

I think it may just be the cold that I am suffering through at the moment that is making me crabby/a woman but I am getting a tad annoyed that certain journalists, commentators and today, the Sun newspaper cannot get the names right of various players that play for our beloved Rovers.

It is surely not hard for an experienced professional and Mark Lawrenson to get the names of players in the ‘best league in the world’ correct.

Why be so lazy and or ignorant when it comes to the so called smaller teams?

Just to help them out I have come up with a short handy guide to help out those in need –

– Ivan Klasnic plays for Bolton, Nikola Kalinic plays for Blackburn. They are two totally different people.

Yes they may be from the same country but that does not mean they have the same name just because their surnames both start with the same initial.

Whilst we are on this topic, Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers are two seperate clubs.

– David Dunn is spelt without an ‘e’ at the end.

This is too make people aware that Dunn or Dunne can be spelt differently.

For example – Richard Dunne plays for Aston Villa, David Dunn plays for Blackburn Rovers.

– Ryan Nelsen is not spelt Nelson. I know a lot of people who have that surname accept that Nelson is the common spelling but how long does it take to check? He has been playing the EPL for about 5 years now!!!

By the same rationale, the Vital Blackburn Journalists will henceforth be known as Boom Boom, Fastman, Spikey and Stalker.

Honestly I know it sounds like I am having a real nag this morning but come on.

It is just lazy.
