Well what can we say. What a season this campaign has turned out to be. High expectations, no results. A new manager, new players, another new manager, and finally some results.

Whether you disagree or agree with various moments throughout the season, feel free to discuss each point.

Win of the Year:

Wow, not many to choose from is there. I wanted to choose the victory over Stoke, the win that will kickstart our campaign, but surely, that cant be the highlight….can it? Sas has to trace back to our very first game, against Everton. A 93rd minute Andre Oijer goal sealed the 3-2 victory, earning it the win of the year

Loss of the Year

Well, plenty to choose from here. But, does the thrashing West Ham dished out ring a bell. Well, it wasnt a thrashing until late on, but we collapsed, 4 goals went in, the fat lady sang early….

The Win that got away

Sasmans most dissapointing moment in at least 10 years. 2-0 up, Mark Hughes back at Ewood Park, and our boys in control. 2-1 Sturridge volley. 94th minute, 2-2 Robinho…..Our boys were on the ground, the fans went quiet, Sasman couldnt go to bed…..

Signing of the Season

Have any of our signings really flourished. Robinson has done well, but has had his moments, the award has to go to Sam Allardyce and Keith Andrews. 5 points in 3 games, not setting the world on fire, but, hey 5 points we would not have had. Credit to the board for snapping him up.

Keith Andrews- Not the best player in premier league, probably not even the best player in division 2. But hey, give the guy some credit, he plays with his heart on his sleeve, runs for 90 minutes, and Sasman believes he will develop under Fat Sam. He knows that he is no longer a walk in start, and must play for his spot. Good luck to the lad

Flop of the Season

Goes to 2 members of the Club. First of all, Paul Ince. A good manager, but not premier league standard, enough said.

Dissapointingly, the second goes to Vince Grella. Grella is one of my personal favourite players, as many know, however his 4 million pound move has been poor. Injuries have prevented him from spending more then 45 minutes on the pitch. Trust me on this one lads, Grella will be back, filling that whole in midfield which we have been craving for. Trust me lads….

Goal of the Season

Is there many to choose from? Personally, I cant recall a Tugayesque moment, or a flash of brilliance from our men up front, so the award goes to Keith Andrews and his 30 yard strike, giving us a late equaliser. Congrats to Keith

Welcome back, dont Dissapear again

Benni McCarthy. Where has he been, and where has this form come from. 5 goals in 5 matches, Benni is back baby…..Just dont leave us again…Please!!!

Where did you go

This award normally would go to Morten Gamst, who often dissapears in the first 6 months, then comes back. However, its his partner in crime on the left flank who recieves the award this time round. Steven Warnock. What on earth has happened, in line for a call up to the England Squad, now he has fallen of the radar. He is fortunate Olsson isn’t ready to step up to the plate…..I think there is a move to Newcastle on his mind….

Get stuck in, or get out!!!!

Warnock, Santa Cruz. Enough said

One to watch

Well its more then 1. Sasman feels our season is held in the hands of 3 players.

Benni McCarthy- Element of class up front, works well with Roberts, as long as Benni keeps finding the net, we will be fine

Morten Gamst- Our Spark in midfield, when he is on offcourse. With Dunny out again, Gamst has to be the one that creates, sets up and hopefully nicks a goal or 2.

Ryan Nelsen- With Nelsen on form, our back 4 match it with the best in the league. As one of my VB brothers says, Our Captain, Leading by example….or something like that.

Well that wraps it up, enjoy the read, and lets hope Rovers continue their form and keep collecting the points
