Blackburn Rovers Trialist’s Arrive

Blackburn Rovers have handed trials to a couple of promising youngsters. This is something we have not seen much (trials handed to players) from the club this summer, which is unusual.

Adda Djeziri, who is an 18-year-old winger, is to arrive for a weeklong trial at Brockhall, along with another unnamed midfielder. Danish star Djeziri comes to Rovers from BK Frem (the club Rovers signed goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen from earlier this summer) and spent time on loan with Glasgow Rangers last season.

As far as I am aware (although it is more than likely I am wrong!) these are the first players to arrive on trial this summer, which is unusual as in times gone by Mark Hughes usually likes to bring a fair few in, and looks to play them in Pre-Season. Last summer there was the Chilean player (whose name escapes me but, maybe something Acuna?!?! The one that had a pop at Liverpool’s Mark Gonzalez in the press) that played a couple of matches, and we also had Ghanaian Shilla Illiasu, who I think may have also played in Pre-Season.

With a few Pre-Season matches let to play though I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see a couple more come in, and maybe have a little run out. However, at the same time it just shows how happy Hughes is with his lot he currently has, and why shouldn’t he!!!
