Are things changing at Ewood Park?? Blackburn Rovers Season ticket sales are reported as being 30 percent up on the same figures sold at this stage last year.

Half season tickets sold last season have been converted at a “good rate” with a good amount of new supporter’s purchasing season tickets with fans returning. Under the Venky’s ownership (quite understandably) the supporters faith in the club has suffered, speaking from a personal point of view they’ll still have to go some way to win me over but based purely on a footballing decision Gary Bowyer looks to be leading us in the right direction so season ticket sales improving isn’t that much of a surprise.

Director of Communications Alan Myers told The Lancashire Telegraph: “It is fantastic that the season ticket sales figures are up, it shows that the supporters have really got behind the manager and players.

“It is pleasing to see fans returning to the club, but it is about the team and what they do on the pitch that matters, that is why people will come back.

“We will be embarking on a huge fan engagement project, we want to give them something to be proud of.

In other news Rovers have signed up promising teenager Ollie Mehew from Bristol Rovers who speculation said was interesting Premier League sides Everton and Tottenham Hotspur as well as our Championship rivals Norwich City, Fulham and Reading with him going straight into our Under-18 squad to continue his development.

Another player that was being linked with a move to Ewood was 21-year-old John Egan, however, the former Sunderland central defender has signed a contract with League 1 side Gillingham.
