Nick Blackman has ended speculation about his short term future be signing a deal that will keep him at Ewood Park for another two and a half seasons.

Blackman has been a massive hit up there in chilly Scotland smashing the goals in for Motherwell and there was rumours that he was wanted on a more permanent basis in the land of haggis.

But Rovers have been quick to act.

Sky Sports are reporting – ‘Blackburn striker Nick Blackman has signed a new deal at Ewood Park.

Blackman has just returned to Ewood Park after a successful spell on loan at SPL side Motherwell during the first half of the season.

Blackman scored 10 goals in 18 appearances at Fir Park and the club were keen to extend his loan stay.

The 21-year-old is highly rated at Blackburn and the club have moved to tie him down to a new two-and-a-half-year to keep him until 2013.

Blackman could be heading out on loan again during this month’s transfer window with Aberdeen keen to bring him back to Scotland.’
