Blackburn Rovers are understood to have been beaten (or supposedly will be) to the signature of Sean Davis by Bolton Wanderers.

The 29-year-old has rejected an offer of a new contract with Portsmouth and speculation has linked him to a move to Ewood Park. However, according to newspaper reports today the midfielder is looking more likely to move to the Reebok Stadium. Bolton had tried to sign Davis in January but he wasn’t allow him to leave Fratton Park.

Sunderland and Wigan Athletic along with Glasgow Rangers are also understood to be interested in the former Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur player.

  • He would be a solid bet but should we not be looking for a more creative player? We have plenty of solid midfield players.

  • he’s no better than – Grella, Dunn, Reid, Warnock, Emerton, Andrews etc – all play his position, i think he’s free so why not but to pay for him would be stupid for a club trying to trim its wage bills…..

  • I think we’ll get over this, he’s not that good anyway and is he even an improvement on what we have?!?! I’d personally say no so I’ll not lose any sleep over this.
