Connor Mahoney has been linked with various Championship clubs, Nottingham Forest were seen as favourites to sign the Blackburn forward before Middlesbrough moved to rival them.

However, in actual fact it appears Mahoney will head straight to the Premier League as Bournemouth are now in ‘advanced talks’ with him, reports Sky Sports.

Mahoney, 20, turned down a new deal at Ewood Park and will link up with his new club, presumably Bournemouth now, once a compensation fee is agreed with Blackburn, which would go to a tribunal to decide if necessary.

Premier League interest could help speed along this deal and bring Rovers the best possible return?

A confirmed exit this week has seen Head of Athletic Performance, Chris Neville, leave his position.

Neville, who came to Blackburn in January 2013 as part of former boss Michael Appleton’s backroom staff has left to ‘pursue other opportunities.’

He told the Official Website: ‘All good things come to an end and after four-and-a-half years at Blackburn Rovers it is time to move on. It is a great club, steeped in history, with some excellent players, staff and fans. I’m sure the club will move forward and challenge for promotions over the next few seasons. It has been an honour to have been a small part of BRFC and wish everyone success in the future. I’m looking forward to developing new and excited challenges over the next few years.’

Of course, Blackburn said they would ‘like to thank Chris for all his efforts and wish him well for the future.’
