Blackburn Rovers did it again!! A 3-1 win at The Valley against Charlton Athletic made it three wins in a row after Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton Wanderers before this.

Has this win got us back into an unlikely play-off position in The Championship?? If we’re able to get two or three more wins in a row then you’d definitely have to say so wouldn’t you, however, we’ll take care of this win on Saturday afternoon first!!

Gary Bowyer had said that the Wednesday evening win over Bolton was our “best performance of the season” but we “bettered it” with our performance against Charlton with that win over The Addicks made better with the way we played in the match after the hectic two weeks.

Bowyer told The Official Blackburn Rovers Website: “To come away after a gruelling two weeks and produce that level of performance, to race into a two-goal lead was fantastic from the players.

“We had to stand firm at times as we knew that Charlton would have a spell but we withstood that and went down the other end and could have won by more to be honest.

Jordan Rhodes again got among the goals scoring another two with Craig Conway’s goal sandwiched between them, however, further injury problems are a concern with the team somewhat patched up with players having to adapt to fill various roles and the Rovers Manager couldn’t have asked for more.

Adding: “I think there is only two or three players that have played one position. Everybody else has had to play more then one position.

“You had Chris Brown and Jordan Rhodes filling in on the flanks, Ben Marshall has played right wing, left wing and right back, Tommy Spurr has played left back and centre back, they’ve done tremendous everyone of them.

“It was another massive effort from them, we were disrupted by the injuries but we didn’t let that stop us.

This is a superb result at The Addicks have been really inform so to got to The Valley and not only win (perhaps a little bit of luck when they hit the crossbar) was superb. We now need a consistent Rovers side to be the one we see between now and the end of the season.

What a big, big match we’ve got at Ewood Park on Tuesday evening!! If we’re able to get another three points against Brentford then I’d have to say that an unlikely scenario suddenly becomes very realistic again!!
