January is looming, however, this doesn’t just herald the start of another year it’ll also bring with it the opening of the January Transfer Window.

This isn’t a window (due to our transfer embargo) that we can deal in with permanent moves (with a fee involved) for players, however, it could mean that Blackburn Rovers might lose a player of two with Premier League clubs looking to tempt players away from Ewood Park.

Gary Bowyer is adamant that our FFP embargo doesn’t mean we’ve got to sell anyone though and we’ll be “working hard” to prevent a situation like the one with Scott Dann (when he left for Crystal Palace last January) happening again. Any Premier League club worth their salts would be looking at our players though!!

He told The Lancashire Telegraph: “We’re all working hard trying to pre-empt what might happen or not.

“If Premier League clubs are doing their jobs properly they’re looking at our players, it’s as simple as that.

“We’ve got a great core of young players who are putting the pride back into this club, they’re getting more and more experience.

Realistically though the Rovers Manager also knows that it’s not just the lure of a Premier League move that can tempt players to leave the lure of a financially play rise leaves it as “human nature” that you can have your head turned and we’ll have to play the system logically too as it could also benefit us as a club.

Adding: “But there are loads of things that come into it in January.

“What would you do if another company came in for you and doubled the wages that you’re on?

“It’s human nature, of course there’s the potential of people’s head getting turned. That’s just life, it’s the same in any industry. You can’t hide from it and you have to be sensible about it.

There’s not really much we as supporters can do to change what’ll happen whatever is there!!
