Blackburn Rovers Manager Gary Bowyer’s coming under some pressure now, however, should we stick with him or is it time for him to move on??

A recently started thread in the VBer forum on this issue from dallydally has been looking to ask this question, is it time to call time on Bowyer’s reign? Click Here.

jimbogeesus’s thoughts were: “I think the side looks a bit lost and out of ideas at the minute which is primarily down to tactics that aren’t working. People can make comments like he should have went before but he deserved a chance and will get another job due to him making more progress than people have given him credit for. He has steadied the ship and brought in some quality inexpensive players like Cairney, Conway, Gestede and Duffy as well as cost cutting and other jobs that most managers don’t usually have to do.

“Venky’s have also improved their image and shown that they can make sensible decisions which means we can attract a decent manager now and seem to have got a boardroom together to run the club properly.

“With the current situation we are in financially getting promotion as quickly as possible is essential and i don’t think Bowyer has got what it takes to take us up to that level. Every time you hear a player / bowyer come out with something about going on a run to get into the playoff’s, automatic promotion places we just see a completely flat performance. The Wolves game said a lot cos we both have play-off ambitions and when the pressure was on to get a result they took the points.

“We missed out big time not getting in Steve Clarke, however i think there still is some options out there. Karl Robinson seems to have a lot of potential and plays a good football, he also knows the lower leagues and can operate with a low budget. Not sure if he would want to leave MK Dons at the minute tho if he has a good thing going on! Ally McCoist could be a decent outside shout, has a likeable big character which could be what we need. Similar to Souness in that he has got the name so that people would listen to him and has had a fair amount of success in his career. Doubt he would cost much wage wise as outside Scotland a championship job is prob his most realistic shout. The likes of Adkins is also a obvious choice so don’t agree that there isn’t anything out there.

Time for Bowyer to go then in this view with options available that could improve our situation??
